Proceeds

Proceeds from the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation online 50/50 draw will go towards the $510,000 needed to purchase a new x-ray machine for the hospital in Saugeen Shores.

The government does not fund the purchase of new hospital equipment so the Foundation relies on the generosity of the community donations and fundraising events such as this lottery. Our current x-ray machine is 15 years old and is in need of being replaced. This vital piece of equipment works 7 days a week 24 hours a day.

X-ray technology is the fastest and easiest way for a physician to assess and view broken bones as well as diagnose and assess patients with infections like pneumonia, some tumours and calcifications like kidney stones and bone loss. Our radiology department and x-ray technology can play a vital role in the care of not only emergency room patients but oncology, cardiology and surgical cases as well.

The new digital x-ray equipment will have a fixed component but also a portable unit which can travel to the ER and to the inpatient area for those crucial times when a patient is unable to be moved or needs urgent, life-saving imaging for quick assessment and treatment.

Buy your tickets and help us bring this much needed vital piece of medical equipment to the Saugeen Shores community.
You could win big and help save lives!
